To celebrate the completion of the first week I decided to make a pizza. I turned the oven on, put the pizza in when it was hot, and then waited 17 minutes. When it was ready I opened the oven and realize the problem. How was I going to get it out with one hand? Though, as I said before I am in relatively minimal pain, my right hand still can't hold heavy objects. So, I had two choices in front of me, I could let the oven and pizza cool off so I wouldn't burn myself, or I could get creative. I was hungry so the decision was made for me...get creative :-)
How to retrieve a delicious pizza from the oven with only your left hand
By Joel Dunn
Find as many oven safe objects as you can and balance them to a height that will reach rack level.
Place cookie sheet or pizza tray on top of balanced objects.
Slowly, and carefully, with a spatula pull the pizza out of oven and on to the pizza tray.
Pick up the pizza tray and put it on the stovetop, and continue to deconstruct the "tower of rescue"
Consume pizza, enjoy :-)
